Iran’s international Quran competitions have scheduled to host representatives of 80 countries, an official has said.
Head of the Quranic Affairs Center affiliated to Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization recently said 283 contestants will take part at five upcoming international Quranic events in Iran.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed-Mostafa Hosseini also noted that the so-far confirmed contestants are from 80 countries across the globe.
They are set to take part at the 34th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition, and international Quran contests for women, seminary students, visually-impaired, and school students.
Taking into account those accompanying the contestants and special guests invited to the events, the total number of foreign guests at Iran’s Quranic events will reach more than 400, the head said.
Hosseini noted that the members of the jury panel, both for domestic and international sections, in all of the five contests have been selected and will be announced soon.
Last year, Quran memorizers and reciters from more than 70 countries attended Iran’s international Quran competitions.
The Quran competitions will be held in May.
